Problem Statment
Our person (Josh) needs a way to get better at Spanish, because he wants to communicate better and stay in touch with his family. His busy 9-5 work schedule doesn’t allow for him to take any courses. It also doesn’t leave him with too much free time to sit down constantly and for long hours for an online class. He understands Spanish pretty well, but he has a bit of a hard time with reading and speaking it.
We will know this to be true when we see he can easy use text-based messaging apps such as WhatsApp to post in the family group and be able to keep up conversations with his Spanish speaking family members.

The Results
For this case study, I was tasked with creating the wireframes and a prototype for a language learning flash card mobile application. I created the wireframes for this app and turned the crated assets into a prototype (featuring almost 100 screens) in order to make the usability testing and the development of the project in the later stages as easy and comprehensive as possible.

Persona

Bio
Josh is a 26-year-old single retail worker who lives in north America. He spends a lot of time on his phone on his downtime at work or while on public transportation. Due to being out of the environment and never visiting his country of origin, he only has a basic understanding of his native tongue (Spanish). he is losing touch with his extended family because of it.
Goals & Motivations
His goal is to pick up a few words or phrases everyday day without having to take time to commute or attend a class in person. This would help him understand what is going on in the big family chat group and is able to communicate with them better.
“I use apps on my phone sometimes to brush up on my Spanish writing skills from time to time, So I can communicate better with my la familia!”
Hypothesis Statement
We believe that by creating a flashcard mobile application complete with features such as audio support, displaying the correct pronunciations, image support and more, we can help Josh reach his goal of getting better at Spanish without taking too much of his time.

Usability Testing
I performed my usability test in person and had my participants test key features of our vocabulary learning flashcard application; So Hey, Learn! Features such as quick learn, featured (Home Page) and settings, plus the signing up process. I gave them free reign to roam and play around to see if they can spot any issues
I might have missed, or a feature that doesn’t make sense to them.
